Bio

Carrie Hines is the President & CEO of the American Small Manufacturers Coalition (ASMC) which is the trade association of the nation’s manufacturing extension agents or Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) centers and partners.  The coalition’s primary focus is helping secure federal funding for the public/private partnership of centers which help manufacturers improve productivity and increase competitiveness. 

In addition, Ms. Hines serves at the Executive Director of the Foundation for Manufacturing Excellence, ASMC's subsidiary organization, which provides training and education to MEP Center staff. 

Prior to joining ASMC and the Foundation, Ms. Hines worked for 10 years at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) headquarters for the Manufacturing Extension Partnership program as senior policy advisor, legislative liaison, federal program officer, and manager of the MEP National Advisory Board.  In addition, she served a detail to the U.S. House of Representatives Appropriations Committee.  Ms. Hines has a bachelor’s degree in political science from Clemson University and a masters in business administration from Hood College.
